Hey there !
So today I want to share with you one of my latest discoveries. As you may have noticed from the title, we’re not going to talk about nail polish. I’ve been willing to share with you all of my passions besides nail polish, but I don’t know why, every time I find a reason not to. But not this time.
But before talking about the collection itself, please let me tell you more about Miller Harris. I’m definitely not going to pretend that I’m an expert when it comes to perfume. But I already heard about this perfumer a while ago. I like the fragrances that I buy to me somewhat exclusive and unique and different from what you can find at Sephora for example. Miller Harris was founded in 2000 by Lyn Harris. Lyn has been working in the fragrance industry for more than twenty years. Her inspiration comes from the everyday life. She always looks for the finest quality raw materials, each ingredient is precious. Therefore, all of the Miller Harris perfumes are produced in limited quantity. Also, they’re unisex.
I’m impressed by her artistry. I mean, she knows how to recreate emotions, express feelings, through her perfumes. She manages to embark us on a journey like a painting, or a picture would do. I don’t know if you’re getting what I’m trying to say. The Le Jardin d’Enfance is composed of three fragrances. I love how minimalistic the bottle is, but also how delicate it is with the flowers that you can see through the bottle.
Coeur de Jardin : A charming and playful narrative of an eclectic garden in full bloom. When smelling it, I definitely felt that I was in a garden with multiple varieties of flowers in full bloom. Maybe too many flowers indeed. Honestly, this scent is quite overwhelming when you first try it.
- Top : Bergamot Italy, Lemon Italy
- Heart : Rose Turkey, Jasmine, Tuberose, Vanilla
- Base : Orris Butter
Poirier d’un soir : Evocative of the warm honeyed blooms that encircle a pear orchard at dusk. Honestly ? Didn’t like this one. At all. I almost made me feel sick. I think it’s the kind of scent that would suit a men.
- Top : Bergamot Italy
- Heart : Rum extract, Rose Turkey, Papyrus India
- Base : Birch tar oil, Patchouli oil, White Cedarwood
Cassis en feuille : The rambling vines and bountiful fruit of a forgotten garden. This one I both love it and don’t love it. I guess it’s definitely the kind of scent that you’ll like depending on your mood or depending on the weather and/or the seasons.
- Top : Bergamot Italy, Galbanum, Blackcurrant
- Heart : Geranium Egypt, Tomato Leaf
- Base : Cedarwood Virginia
After testing these three scents, and being able to compare them, I think my favorite is Coeur de Jardin. I got used to it’s very strong but addictive floral scent. I could definitely see myself wearing Cassis en Feuille during a sunny but cold winter, which obviously won’t happen here in Dubai !
Well there’s another scent I have to tell you about, which is La Pluie. It’s not part from this collection, but I tried it during the event, and honestly? It’s my absolute favorite one. I’m trying to resist, but I think I’ll definitely buy this one ! I mean, it’s so me !
Now let’s talk about the price. As you may guess, who says exclusive and fine scents, says a little bit more expensive than usual. A 100mL bottle costs about 140€. It’s definitely expensive, but it’s not the kind of perfume that you’ll spray on yourself like crazy. It’s very concentrated you’ll only need to spray it once or twice to get the right amount of perfume. Anyway, I can find every possible reasons to justify that I’m willing to spend this amount to buy La Pluie :D
Now I’d love to know more about your perfume taste. Do you know Miller Harris perfumes? Have you ever tried them? If so, what do you think ? Do you also like to have some kind of exclusive scent? Or do you prefer buying your perfume in stores like Sephora?
I truly hope you liked this little unusual post :) Please let me know if you mind if I do more posts like this one in the future ! I love to share with you this kind of discovery :)
Thanks for reading ! ❤❤
